According to the German Press Agency (DPA), the Ministry of Economy and Climate Protection reported that the government has approved a total of 45.74 million euros worth of arms and military equipment sales to Israel as of October 13 this year. The Ministry had previously announced that the government had approved 14.46 million euros worth of arms and military equipment sales to Israel as of August 21 this year. This means that Germany has approved 31 million euros worth of arms and military equipment sales to Israel in the last 8 weeks. The Ministry's report emphasized once again that there is no ban on arms exports to Israel. Bild newspaper reported that Germany requested written assurance from Israel that the weapons it sells will not be used for genocide. It was also noted that Israel provided the document in question, following which Prime Minister Olaf Scholz stated in parliament, 'We have provided arms to Israel and will continue to do so.'
