Hot and Humid Weather Will Continue to Be Effective Today

Meteorology General Manager of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Fevzi Burak Tekin announced the weather forecasts. Tekin stated that Turkey is under the influence of hot weather, with temperatures being 6 to 9 degrees above seasonal norms, and that the heat wave will continue today. Emphasizing that the humidity felt with the hot weather will also continue today, Tekin warned that there is a risk of forest fires in areas with high temperatures, low humidity, and strong winds. He urged the citizens and authorities in these areas to take necessary precautions. Tekin drew attention to the fact that Turkey will enter a new rainy system starting tomorrow, with temperatures dropping below seasonal norms in the northern, inland, and eastern regions, while remaining around seasonal norms in other regions. He mentioned that today there will be showers in Thrace, Ordu, Giresun, and the inland areas of Trabzon. Starting tomorrow, there will be showers and thunderstorms in Istanbul and the southern and eastern parts of the Marmara region, the Black Sea region, and the northern parts of the Inner and Eastern Anatolia regions. Especially tomorrow, the coastal areas of the Black Sea region will experience heavy rainfall, and Tekin warned the citizens about the risk of floods and flash floods. Tekin stated that the rainy system will move towards the eastern regions of the country on Monday, with rainfall expected in the central and eastern Black Sea, the northern part of Eastern Anatolia, the coastal areas of Kastamonu, and around Samsun. He also said that on Tuesday, most parts of the country will have partly cloudy and clear skies.
