The Times of Israel newspaper reported that the Israeli Security Cabinet will convene this evening to discuss a ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah. According to Channel 12 TV, the ceasefire text was finalized on Monday, with a comment before the cabinet meeting that there needs to be 'something drastic' for the agreement to break. Despite reports in the Israeli press that the ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah has been finalized, some Israeli politicians and mayors in the north have expressed opposition to the deal. Avi Dichter, a Likud member of the Security Cabinet, stated on social media that he does not have enough details to make a decision on the ceasefire with Hezbollah, and will not support it if it is the same as UN Security Council Resolution 1701. David Azoulay, the Mayor of the Metula settlement on the Lebanese border, argued that the ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah is a 'surrender agreement.' Avichai Stern, the Mayor of the Kiryat Shmona settlement on the Lebanon border, criticized the ceasefire agreement, stating that it speeds up a repeat of the October 7 attack in the north and cannot be allowed. Opposition leader Benny Gantz called on Prime Minister Netanyahu to share the ceasefire agreement with the public. Leader of the Yisrael Beiteinu party, Avigdor Liberman, also opposed the agreement, stating that the deal with Lebanon is 'terrible for Israel.'
