Media representatives briefed on post-earthquake reconstruction efforts

50 foreign press members from 11 countries including Germany, Iraq, Italy, Azerbaijan, and Bulgaria were informed about the post-earthquake reconstruction efforts in the city at the Indere viewing terrace. Governor Osman Varol explained the reconstruction efforts in the city, emphasizing the severe destruction caused by the earthquakes. The press members then visited the Indere and Orenli permanent housing complexes, the reserve area, the commercial center, as well as the Ulucami and the churches of Mor Petrus and Mor Pavlus. Press member Nasuhi Güngör highlighted the importance of narrating the reconstruction efforts in earthquake-stricken areas for societal morale, sense of belonging, and solidarity. He also emphasized the role of civil society organizations in fostering solidarity during the difficult times. Güngör expressed the hope for the swift completion of the ongoing construction activities led by the government and relevant ministries, underscoring the significance of transparency and accountability in the process.
