Mexico: Migrants to be deported from the US will be conditionally accepted
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum addressed the situation of thousands of irregular migrants expected to be deported from the United States during a daily press conference at the National Palace. She emphasized that Mexico does not want to be a 'safe third country' for the migrants sent by the US. Sheinbaum stated, 'We are in constant communication regarding the possibility of other country nationals being sent to Mexico. As Mexicans, we do not leave someone in distress at the border, and this is not a new situation for us.' Sheinbaum mentioned that they accept their own citizens who are deported from the US, but they do not want to be a safe third country for nationals of other countries. She highlighted that they always keep dialogue channels open and maintain an honorable, responsible, and dialogue-focused approach to protect their sovereignty and respect the rights of Mexicans.
