Most Americans believe that artificial intelligence does not provide reliable information about elections
1019 adults were surveyed between July 29 and August 8 by the Associated Press-NORC Public Relations Research Center and USAFacts, asking them whether they trust AI-powered robots for providing reliable information about elections. Despite the majority of participants using AI-powered chatbots and search engines in their work and personal lives, doubts about AI usage persist. Approximately two-thirds of the respondents believe that AI-powered tools do not provide reliable and fact-based information about presidential elections. Only 16% believe that AI will facilitate access to accurate information about elections, while 8% trust that election results generated by AI chatbots like ChatGPT are based on real information. Only 12% of the participants believe that AI-powered search engines like Google provide election-related findings based on real information.
