Recent poll in the US shows Trump and Harris tied at 48 percent in the latest survey
New York Times (NYT) and Siena College conducted a nationwide survey revealing a neck-and-neck race between Trump and Harris as the countdown to the 60th presidential election on November 5th continues. The survey, conducted over the phone with 2,516 registered voters nationwide from October 20-23, showed Trump and Harris tied at 48 percent in the polls. In issue-based questions that concern the nation, Trump led with 52 percent on the economy and 54 percent on the immigration issue, while Vice President Harris was the preferred candidate with 51 percent on the fate of democracy and 55 percent on the abortion issue. With less than two weeks to go until the elections, the fact that the two rivals are tied in the polls is seen as a fierce battle in the ongoing campaign, with the possibility of heated debates over the election results. The survey also pointed out that despite the candidates' equal polling numbers, the fate of the two rivals will be determined by undecided voters in swing states such as Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. According to other recent surveys conducted in the US, Harris leads the national polling by a hair's breadth, while Trump is slightly ahead of his Democratic rival in the 7 critical swing states that will be decisive in the presidential race.
