NBC television's Tarzan series star Rony Ely passed away at the age of 86. Ely, who became famous for his role in the Tarzan series aired from 1966 to 1968 on NBC television, was announced to have passed away by his daughter Kirsten Casale Ely on social media. Kirsten Casale Ely stated that her father Ely passed away on September 29 at his home in California, saying 'My father was someone people called a hero. He was an actor, writer, coach, mentor, family man, and a leader.' Born in Texas, USA in 1938, Rony Ely gained recognition for his leading role in the Tarzan series. Rony Ely also appeared in the 1975 film 'Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze'. Apart from his acting career, Ely also hosted various television programs and wrote 2 novels.
