The number of wage earners increased by 1.1 percent annually

According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) for the February period, the total number of wage earners in the industry, construction, and trade-service sectors increased by 1.1 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 15,293,843 people. In February, the number of wage earners decreased by 2.2 percent in the industrial sector, increased by 2 percent in the construction sector, and by 2.9 percent in the trade-service sector compared to the previous year. The total number of wage earners in the industry, construction, and trade-service sectors decreased by 0.1 percent compared to the previous month. During this period, the number of wage earners decreased by 0.4 percent in the industrial sector, 0.7 percent in the construction sector, and increased by 0.1 percent in the trade-service sector.
