The number of wage earners increased by 2.2 percent annually

According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), the number of wage earners in the industrial, construction, and trade-service sectors increased by 2.2 percent in December 2024 compared to the same month of the previous year. The number of wage earners in December 2024 was 15,582,255, up from 15,244,039 in the same month of the previous year. When we look at the details of wage earners, in December 2024, the number of wage earners decreased by 0.9 percent in the industrial sector, increased by 4.2 percent in the construction sector, and increased by 3.7 percent in the trade-service sector on an annual basis. The total number of wage earners in the industrial, construction, and trade-service sectors remained the same in December 2024 compared to the previous month. When we look at the details of wage earners, in December 2024, wage earners decreased by 0.1 percent in the industrial sector, decreased by 0.1 percent in the construction sector, and remained the same in the trade-service sector on a monthly basis.
