The number of wage earners increased on an annual basis in June

The number of wage earners in June increased by 3.4 percent compared to the same month of the previous year in the total of industry, construction, and trade-service sectors. The number of wage earners was 15,082,853 in the same month of the previous year, while it reached 15,601,552 in June 2024. When the sub-details of wage earners are examined; in June, the number of wage earners increased by 0.1 percent in the industry sector, 8.8 percent in the construction sector, and 4.4 percent in the trade-service sector compared to the previous year. The total number of wage earners in the industry, construction, and trade-service sectors decreased by 0.4 percent compared to the previous month in June. When the sub-details of wage earners are examined; in June, wage earners decreased by 0.8 percent in the industry sector, 0.4 percent in the construction sector, and 0.1 percent in the trade-service sector on a monthly basis.
