Unemployment Figures Released

Turkey's Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has announced the labor force statistics for the period of October-December 2024. According to the data, the seasonally adjusted number of unemployed individuals aged 15 and over decreased by 23 thousand compared to the previous quarter, reaching 3 million 80 thousand. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate also decreased by 0.1 points to 8.6%. The unemployment rate decreased by 0.2 points compared to the same period in 2023. The unemployment rate was estimated at 6.9% for men and 11.8% for women. In the young population aged 15-24, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 16.1%, with a 0.5 point decrease from the previous quarter. The unemployment rate in this age group was estimated at 12.6% for men and 22.5% for women.
